Liverpool refuse to panic over drawn-out Sterling contract talks

Liverpool are yet to secure Raheem Sterling to a new contract.

The Daily Mail says the England international turns 18 on December 8 and it has long been expected that Sterling would commit his future on that date.

But there remains some uncertainty after negotiations between Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre and Sterling's advisors earlier this week ended without a definitive figure being outlined.

A club source said: "Negotiations continue to be constructive but we are not prepared to go into any specifics and we do not think that is best served through the media."
