Liverpool new boy Andy Carroll has vowed to grow up and put past mistakes behind him after moving away from Newcastle United.
The 22-year olds positive headlines in the past six months have far been outweighed by negative ones over his career thus far and he promises that things will change - but only to a certain degree.
"I know they will be watching what I'm doing. I am aware of that and I know my responsibilities," he said. "I have to deal with it and take it in my stride.
"I have made some mistakes but they are all behind me. I have just got to move on into the future.
"I don't mind a pint now and again, but that is the way I have been brought up; that's who I am and I am not really going to change. I'll be the person I am.
"I am just going to carry on playing my football, keep my head down and do it at the right time. That's the point, I know the right time to do it, and I know when not to."
