Liverpool rebel Sterling named 'most valuable young player in Europe'

Liverpool midfielder Raheem Sterling has been named the most valuable young player in Europe.

That's according to a new study by the Soccerex 20 Football Value Index, who claim Sterling is currently the hottest young star in football.

The study based it's ratings on the player's age, position, club, contract length, market value perception, international caps, minutes played, goals, injuries and technical quality.

And, they have valued the Liverpool wantaway winger at £35m taking the top spot, with Paris St-Germain's Marquinhos coming in second well behind on £27.8m.

Other Premier League names in the top ten include Manchester United new-boy Memphis Depay, valued at £23.8m.

His new United team-mate Luke Shaw (£18m) also makes the list as does Everton defender John Stones (£12m) and Arsenal's Calum Chambers (£10.6m).
