West Ham United are resigned to selling Matthew Upson in January, it has been revealed.
The Mail on Sunday says West Ham sources now accept Matthew Upson will be allowed to leave in January if they can get the right money for him, something that has long been evident as failed Icelandic bank Straumur stay in control of the club.
Liverpool remain the most likely bidders, though with their own financial difficulties, they are likely to wait until the summer to secure Upson at a reduced £5million fee, when he has just one year left on his contract.
