Liverpool are ready to pounce for Manchester City defender Micah Richards.
Richards will be sold by City this summer after confirming a Bosman deal for Arsenal fullback Bacary Sagna.
The Daily Star says Liverpool are leading the race to snap him up.
West Ham and Hull are also interested and could offer guaranteed first-team football, but the Reds' European participation could well swing things their way.
