Liverpool are closely monitoring a pair of players who come out of contract at the end of the season.

The Daily Mail reports that the Reds are extremely keen on making summer moves for Manchester City's James Milner and Burnley's Danny Ings.

The Merseyside club have been linked with both players recently but it is now believed that they are intent on luring the duo to Anfield for free when their current deals expire.

Veteran midfielder Milner is yet to pen a new deal with reigning champions City while talented striker Ings has been tipped to leave Turf Moor at the culmination of the current campaign especially if the Clarets are relegated to the Championship.
