Liverpool ready to deal in Plymouth defender Jones

Plymouth centre-half Lloyd Jones is interesting Liverpool.

The Mirror says Reds manager Kenny Dalglish agreed a six-figure compensation fee with the cash-strapped Devon club and sorted out a three-year contract with the Wales youth international.

Jones impressed Liverpool during a trial at the end of the season and Dalglish took time out from chasing his big-money targets to talk the kid into signing.

Several other leading clubs, including Everton, had an interest in Jones but the lure of Anfield and Dalglish won the day.
