Liverpool are preparing a bid for Manchester City defender Micah Richards. The Daily Star Sunday says Liverpool see Richards as a centre-half but will face competition for the England defender from AC Milan and Arsenal.
Richards, 24, has been strongly recommended to Italian giants Milan by his former City team-mate Mario Balotelli.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has a long-standing interest in the powerful defender, who has played the majority of his career at right-back.
Liverpool are in the market for centre-backs with Jamie Carragher planning to retire at the end of the season and Martin Skrtel out of favour - but they will only spend £10million to sign Richards.
Can Richards still fulfill his potential as a centre-half? Give us your shout below...
