Liverpool are pushing to close a deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri.
The Daily Star says Rodgers, who has already added Southampton and England hitman Rickie Lambert to his forward line, is keen to bring more attacking flair to the club this summer as he prepares for the challenge of Champions League football.
With Adam Lallana close to complete his £25m switch from Southampton, Liverpool have now turned their attentions to securing the signing of Bayern Munich ace Shaqiri.
Liverpool lodged a £15m bid for Shaqiri prior to the World Cup, but, as of yet, it is not known whether the clubs have agreed on a fee.
