Liverpool hope to set up an £8 million deal for Birmingham City defender Scott Dann.
The 24-year-old Liverpool-born defender could become the club's fifth summer signing.
Birmingham would like to keep him but after their relegation to the Championship and their current financial predicament Dann will go to the highest bidder and that could be Liverpool.
