Liverpool are preparing a bid for FC Koln defender Jonas Hector.

BILD says the German international has been scouted by Liverpool chiefs in recent months and is believed to being sounded out as Alberto Moreno's replacement.

Moreno has come under criticism in recent weeks and his deputy, Jon Flanagan, could leave the club in the summer.

It has been reported that Hector would cost a fee in the region of £6million.
