Liverpool are aiming to secure Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh to a pre-contract.

The Morocco international becomes a free agent in June and is wanted by Arsenal, among several Premiership clubs.

The Daily Mail says Chamakh's representatives held talks with Liverpool yesterday over signing a pre-contract agreement.
