Liverpool are interested in Feyenoord defender Stefan de Vrij. The Dutch international, 22, has ended contract extension talks with the Rotterdam club, but Feyenoord have declared that they will re-evaluate the situation concerning both him after the World Cup.

Technical director Martin van Geel told Algemeen Dagblad: "Talks have stopped and we will wait for the summer.

"With De Vrij, we have already made the decision to wait until after the World Cup (before re-evaluating the situation)."
