Liverpool are keeping tabs on Iker Casillas' situation at Real Madrid. The Sunday Express says they could move for Casillas if a deal for ex-Barcelona star Victor Valdes fails to materialise.
If all goes well, Valdes will be handed a deal until the end of the season with the option of an extension, but Liverpool are already making backup plans should the move collapse.
QPR striker Loic Remy came close to signing during the summer before failing a medical, and manager Brendan Rodgers is determined to not be caught off-guard again.
His second option between the sticks is Real Madrid legend Casillas, who has fallen out of favour at the Santiago Bernabeu.
