Liverpool are believed to be considering a big-money summer move for Everton's Ross Barkley.

The Daily Star reports that the Reds are a massive fan of Toffees young gun Barkley and could come forward with a £38million offer at the end of the season.

20-year old Barkley has taken the next step at Goodison Park this season, producing a number of breathless displays for Roberto Martinez, which has him in contention for England's World Cup squad.

The Everton youth academy product is contracted until June 2016 but could quite possibly be pried away from the blue side of the River Mersey if chairman Bill Kenwright is open to a sale in order to bring in a plethora of funds.

Liverpool are ready to break their transfer record for Barkley but it is believed that the Toffees would rather tie him down to a long-term deal in the summer with massively improved terms than sell.
