Liverpool are set to make a revised offer for Aston Villa's Christian Benteke.

The Reds were rebuffed in their initial bid of £22million for the Belgian striker but will reportedly return with an improved proposal.

The Daily Mirror reports that Liverpool will offer £25m-plus for Benteke who wants to leave Villa Park for a bigger Premier League club.

However, Villa are not prepared to take anything less than the 24-year old's release clause which sits at £32.5m despite his desire to leave.
