Liverpool are planning a move for Valencia winger Juan Mata.
The Mirror says Liverpool are unlikely to go beyond £15m for Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing and do have other targets at the position.
They have made enquiries about Valencia's Juan Mata, for example, and have been quoted a fee in the region of £20m which, given the player's age and massive promise as Spain's best Under-21 player, would seem better value - especially if Villa refuse to budge.
