Liverpool are interested in Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen.
The Belgium international is a January target for Liverpool and Inter Milan, according to Dutch sources.
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is hoping to strengthen his backline and give his side every chance of finishing in the top four this season.
Vertonghen is good friends with Liverpool ace Luis Suarez, the former Ajax captain.
