Liverpool are eyeing Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe. The Daily Mail says Liverpool are hoping to use Harry Redknapp's pursuit of a new striker to their advantage by snapping up Defoe for £10million.
Redknapp was at Marseille's Ligue 1 clash against Lille on Sunday night to watch Tottenham's main target Loic Remy score both goals in a 2-0 victory.
Defoe is already unsettled at his lack of starts this season, thanks to the form of Emmanuel Adebayor, and Kenny Dalglish needs further firepower to reignite his side's challenge for a top-four finish, with Liverpool held to a seventh home draw of the season on Saturday by Stoke City.
Luis Suarez is serving an eight-match ban, Andy Carroll is struggling to live up to his £35m price tag, while Dirk Kuyt has not scored in the league so far this season and Craig Bellamy has bagged just four.
