Liverpool have rejected the chance to sign Real Madrid outcast James Rodriguez.

Agent Jorge Mendes, reports Sport, has offered the Colombia midfielder to Liverpool in recent days.

However, the Reds have decided to pass on the proposal, particularly given Real's asking price.

Real president Florentino Perez is demanding €70 million to sell James.

The midfielder, meanwhile, is pushing to leave before Real's Double winning squad re-assemble for preseason tomorrow.
