Liverpool owners to hold Rodgers inquisition

Liverpool's owners, Fenway Sports Group, will hold crunch summer talks with manager Brendan Rodgers.

The Express reports that FSG will hold an 'inquest' with the Reds boss who is set to see his side finish fifth as a best-case scenario this season.

Liverpool were just two points behind champions Manchester City last term but have fallen out of the top four which has prompted the inquisition from the ownership group.

There are no plans to sack Rodgers but FSG reportedly want to get to the bottom of this season's issues while planning for an assault on the title next campaign.

The Anfield club have to deal with the loss of captain and legend Steven Gerrard, who leaves for MLS side LA Galaxy in July, and need to go after at least one quality goalscorer after losing Luis Suarez at the end of last season and failing to replace him.
