Liverpool chairman John W Henry insists the Luis Suarez saga did not have an influence on Kenny Dalglish's dismissal.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson claimed last week Dalglish paid the penalty for Liverpool's handling over the Luis Suarez furore but Henry insisted that was not the case.

"That did not really play a part," he told the Daily Mail. "I did not come into play. We have been into the factors why (Dalglish was sacked). No one issue is going to determine the long term viability of the club."
