Liverpool are in talks with Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Sportiello.

Sky Italia says Liverpool have already opened talks with Sportiello's camp about the prospect of a move to England this summer.

Liverpool are turning to Sportiello after hitting a road block over a move for Fiorentina's Bosman prospect Noberto Neto. Reds intermediaries are convinced the Brazilian will move to Juventus.

Sportiello, 22, has worked his way up the lower divisions in Italy, having only joined Atalanta in 2012.

Interestingly, Sportiello does boast Italy U20 and U21 caps.
