Liverpool have opened talks with Benfica for Lorenzo Melgarejo.
The 22 year-old wing-back is a loan target for Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, with talks having already been opened.
Melgarejo's agent revealed the interest of Arsenal last season.
The Paraguay international can play left-back and as a midfielder.
