Liverpool are ready to offer Dan Agger an improved contract to ward off Manchester City.

The Daily Mail says Liverpool will offer Agger a new £80,000-a-week deal to remain at Anfield.

Agger has two years remaining on his contract but has been the subject of two serious enquiries from City. Rodgers wants to end the speculation with a bumper new deal for his centre back.
