Peter Crouch will be tabled a healthy contract improvement by Liverpool.

The News of the World says Crouch will be given a take-it-or-leave-it offer of £35,000 a week to stay at Liverpool.

But the 6ft 7in striker, a target for several Premier League clubs, is unlikely to be rushed into a decision until the summer.

Crouch is not one of Anfield's top earners, having been signed for around £20,000 a week when he moved from Southampton in a £7million deal in 2005.

His four-year contract runs out at the end of next season, so Liverpool find themselves in a more vulnerable position as Crouch heads towards Bosman territory.
