Liverpool have offered Andy Carroll to Manchester City, it has been revealed. The Sunday Mirror says City have rejected an offer from ­Liverpool to swap Carlos Tevez for £35million misfit Carroll.

The Merseysiders ­contacted City's Football ­Administration Officer Brian Marwood with the proposal on Thursday - just hours after beating the Blues in the Carling Cup semi-final.

But City were not interested in exchanging their former skipper for a striker who has flopped since his big-money arrival from Newcastle a year ago.
