Liverpool No2 Lee: Gerrard return lifts everyone
Liverpool assistant boss Sammy Lee says the return to full fitness of Steven Gerrard has sparked their second-half season revival.
Gerrard has started the Reds' last two matches following a hamstring injury, and Lee is backing the captain to have a key role in Rafael Benitez's side's pursuit of Champions League football.
"It's always great to have him on the training park, and everyone knows his influence on the team," Lee told Liverpoolfc.tv. "It's nice to have his quality in and around the place.
"Him being fit could be massive for us. Everyone knows that. We're working hard to make sure Stevie's fit, match fit and ready for us. He's working hard too - he always does.
"It's massive to have players of his ilk, of his quality, around the place."
