Liverpool no.2 Clarke expecting domestic form to turn

Liverpool assistant boss Steve Clarke expects the form of the team to turn now they are out of the Europa League.

The Reds were disappointingly dumped from Europe's second tier by Portuguese club Sporting Braga on Thursday but bounced back with a vital 2-0 away win at Sunderland on Sunday.

Now Clarke feels that the results of the Liverpool side will improve during the season run-in.

"Everybody at the football club was disappointed when we went out of Europe at such an early stage, but I think they bounced back at Stadium of Light which is a difficult place to go and get a result," he said.

"I think it tells you the players are willing to work for the club. They want to work hard.

"The players have proven they can bounce back from disappointments and as everybody in football knows, that's very important."
