Barry Hunter is set to be named chief scout at Liverpool.
The Mirror says Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is snatching super spy Hunter from champions Manchester City to become his new chief scout.
Rodgers will appoint fellow Irishman Hunter, who worked with him at Reading in his younger days, and make him his second capture from City.
Hunter - a specialist in the Italian market for Roberto Mancini - fills the key position as Rodgers looks to revamp his staff without a director of football.
Rodgers has already swooped on City for head of scouting Dave Fallows and this latest move will leave the moneybags outfit without another top recruiter.
