Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson has demanded a response from his teammates following the disappointing 1-0 defeat against Manchester United.
The Reds lost the game to a Wayne Rooney strike at Anfield on Sunday, despite dominating proceedings for much of the game, and Henderson is now looking for a positive reaction.
"We scored three the other night against Arsenal and we are creating chances but we just couldn't finish them off against United for whatever reason," the midfielder said.
"We just have to keep going. Sometimes football is like that. Sometimes you play well and get beat and now it is about how we react with a home game in the Cup on Wednesday [the Exeter replay] and away to Norwich on Saturday, which will not be easy. We need to react well and just keep going.
"When the disappointment goes away and we actually analyse the performance there were a lot of good things in the game but we just couldn't take our chances and lived to regret that later in the game.
"On another day we would maybe have been one- or two-nil up and we can see the game out. It could have been a different game altogether but we paid for the chances we missed and conceding from a set piece was disappointing too."
