Liverpool must cough up big to land Rennes striker Gyan

Liverpool will have to cough up big to land Rennes striker Asamoah Gyan.

Reds boss Roy Hodgson has been linked with Gyan this week, along with West Ham United and Sunderland.

The Daily Mail says Fenerbahce have tried to blow Premiership rivals out of the water by submitting a £10million bid for Rennes striker Gyan.

Gyan, 24, is most keen to move to the Barclays Premier League and a move for about £7m had been expected.

However, Rennes are trying to cash in on the interest and are understood to have responded to Fenerbahce's offer by pushing the asking price to almost £17m.
