Liverpool must move quickly to beat Valencia for Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori.

The Mirror says Liverpool have had a £3.5million bid for the player rejected, and now Valencia are set to move in.

They believe they will be in a position to hold talks with the player next week.

It is understood that while Liverpool are ready to hand Ilori regular first-team football, he has yet to receive such assurances from the other clubs interested.
