Liverpool are chasing Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra.
Tuttosport says Liverpool and Inter Milan have made contact with Diarra's representatives about his future beyond the end of this season.
Diarra's future at Real is in doubt with Fernando Gago having impressed in his absence during the African Nations Cup.
