Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is watching Edinson Cavani's progress at Napoli.
Mediaset says Hodgson is considering Cavani as a replacement for Fernando Torres, in the event he is forced to sell the off-form Spaniard.
Cavani only moved to Napoli in the summer from Palermo, where he attracted enquiries from Tottenham and Manchester City last season.
