Liverpool have missed out on striker Ivan Klasnic.

Former Bolton Wanderers striker Klasnic has signed a one-year contract with Mainz after being linked with Deportivo La Coruna and Liverpool.

He was mooted as a target for Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday over the summer, while reports in Spain claimed Deportivo were hoping to snap up the Croatian.
