Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum has laughed off talk of a move to Fenerbahce.
Wijnaldum believes the speculation arrived thanks to his connection with new Fener coach Phillip Cocu.
"That was speculation from the media, I have to laugh about it!" Wijnaldum told Goal.
"I also read that I asked the club for a departure, but I never spoke to the club at all.
"Outside people see Liverpool buying players, so they assume others will leave, but Liverpool will always get good players, even if they already have good players, which is normal for a big club like Liverpool.
"That I was going to Turkey was something of the media, maybe it was reported because Phillip Cocu is the trainer there and I worked with him for two seasons."
