Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey knows there's a lot of improvement he needs to find in his game.

Shelvey insists he is eager to get the chance to become a regular in the first XI at Anfield.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: "I think sometimes I've got to be calm and cool it down on the pitch because I'm quite aggressive, but then again if I take that out of my game then I wouldn't be the same player.

"You can have people telling you 'You can't do that and can't do this', but they are not on the pitch so they don't know what it feels like to be on the pitch.

"I just need to get a run in the team and play 10 games on the spin when I don't come out of the team."
