Liverpool midfielder Lazar Markovic has refused to snap back at Anderlecht over his failed move last week.

Anderlecht chief Hein Vanhaezebrouck blames the Serb for the transfer falling through, accusing him as the one to blame.

But Markovic has calmly responded on social media.

He posted: "Thank you for making a great effort to get me back to the club, but money was not the problem! Good luck for the future, Anderlecht."

Markovic is now expected to play for Liverpool's U23s leading up to the January market.
