Liverpool midfielder Lucas upset with Brazil snub

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva is furious that he's been overlooked for the Brazil squad.

The midfielder set his heart on returning for his country in the friendly against England and his Premier League friends and foes.

Lucas said: "I have been out for a while with injuries. But I would really like to be involved in the 2014 World Cup, especially as it is in my country. We have the Confederations Cup in December, so hopefully the new manager will come to see me. I just need to be playing well for Liverpool and then that will help me get back into the Brazil squad.

"The Confederations Cup will be like a mini World Cup so I hope after the disappointment of not playing against England at Wembley, I will be able to be in the next squad.

"The main thing now is to get that recall from the manager - that's a big dream for me."
