Williams, on-loan with Swindon Town, was an unused substitute in last week's 1-0 win in Cyprus and also during Sunday's goalless draw with Israel.
He told liverpoolfc.com: “It's something different, international football. Playing against Cyprus and Israel obviously, they play different football to how we play over here so it was good.
“It's massive for Welsh football. We've not had this for so many years and I think the time has come now. We need one more point to get through. Hopefully we can get it done. Going to the Euros would be something special.
“They [the senior players] are brilliant. Ashley Williams is one of the best and obviously Gareth Bale is just something special - Aaron Ramsey too. It's different players to what I had at Liverpool so that was good for me because you learn something different off them as well."
