Liverpool midfielder James Milner is considering his international future.
Milner, 30, has won 61 caps for England since making his debut in 2009 but played for three minutes at Euro 2016.
He told the Liverpool Echo: "I have two young kids and if I am not going to play, and travel, that is something I am going to have to consider.
"I have been to four tournaments but that hasn't helped me at all."
He will talk to new England manager Sam Allardyce about his role in the squad and says he does not want to carry on if he is not going to start games.
"With the good young players that we have coming through, it is pointless me taking up a spot just because I am reliable," he said.
"I am happy it is Sam as I know I can have a good conversation with him and it will be honest. That is all I ever wanted."
