Liverpool's England U21 captain Jordan Henderson is determined to play his way back into the senior squad.
Henderson insists seeing his Young Lions team-mates play against Spain will not fill him with jealousy, just determination.
The Liverpool midfielder, who inspired the Under-21s to a 5-0 win over Iceland on Thursday, said: "I'm over the moon for the lads that have gone up. I know I will be given the opportunity and know I need to take it."
Henderson, who played for the seniors against France 12 months ago, but admits he did not make the most of it, added: "I'd love to play for the seniors soon but I need to stamp my authority on Liverpool first and get a regular place."
