Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is proud being likened to Reds legend Steven Gerrard.
Before suffering his season-ending injury last week during victory over Europa League opponents Borussia Dortmund, Can was playing some his best football for Liverpool.
"(The comparison) definitely makes me proud. But with all due respect to Steven Gerrard: I'm Emre Can and want to go my own way," he told Sport-Informations-Dienst.
"I have a lot to thank Brendan Rodger for. He brought me to Liverpool and I played always as well as I could under his leadership, and learned a lot.
"But of course it is another thing to have (Jurgen) Klopp here. The little details that can make things better are as we speak in our mother tongue.
"It may also be an advantage for him."
