Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole has struck his first goal on-loan at Lille.

Cole 'has been adopted' by Lille fans after earning a standing ovation for his performance against Lorient in which he scored his first goal for the club in a 1-1 draw.

Former Chelsea and West Ham player Cole was substituted with three minutes remaining and left the field to a standing ovation from fans, during which French TV station Canal Plus said: "He has now been adopted."
