Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole hopes his move to Lille will lead him back into the England squad.
Cole signed for Lille on a season-long loan.
"Inevitably, I want to return to the English national team," said Cole. "It's one of my goals.
"The most important thing is to have the opportunity to play and also find a competition like the Champions League. In our group, I know all our opponents to be faced.
"I love the competition, it will be hard for us but I am confident we can hope to advance as far as possible in the event."
