Spartak Moscow have failed with a fresh approach for Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun.

The Daily Mail says Spartak have also been rejected by Anfield midfielder Benayoun who now looks poised to join Chelsea.

The Israel international isn't expected to be given the green light to move to Stamford Bridge, however, until a new manager is installed at Liverpool.
