Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun hopes former club West Ham United beat the drop.

During their 3-0 win last night, former Hammer Benayoun was mercilessly taunted by the travelling fans, but he still refused to celebrate after bundling home Steven Gerrard's free-kick after 19 minutes.

The Israeli midfielder said: "I still have strong feelings for the club, and hope they stay up. I wish them all the best."
