Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is set for a Liverpool medical today. The Daily Mail says Mignolet will have a medical on Tuesday before completing his £9milion move to Liverpool.

Mignolet, 25, will become Liverpool's fourth new signing after Manchester City's Kolo Toure, Sevilla's Luis Alberto and Celta Vigo's Iago Aspas.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers said: "One of the things we're trying to build is a competitive squad. Our squad was very thin last year and it was great being we were able to introduce a few young players from our academy that but it's very important that we have competition in every position and that wasn't always the case."
