Dirk Kuyt and David Ngog are battling calf and back injuries respectively.

Fernando Torres is out after knee surgery and Benitez will leave any decision on Kuyt and Ngog as late as possible.

If neither make it, he would have to go with Ryan Babel, who has spent most of his Reds career on the flanks, or 5ft 5in rookie Dani Pacheco.
